Samford is set to become North Brisbane’s major community banking hub, as the Community Bank Samford undergoes a makeover transformation which will see its staff across Brendale and Samford branches come together, to an enhanced modern banking facility.

For the past 20 years, Brendale’s residential and industrial precinct has been home to the Community Bank Brendale, part of Bendigo Bank. Two decades later, times have changed and the way in which customers do their banking has too.

Pine Rivers Community Finance (PRCF), which owns and operates the Community Bank Brendale and Samford, welcomes the change with open arms and believes it is a beneficial move which will benefit the whole community.

Mandy Bell, Senior Branch Manager said, “It was a natural progression in recent years for the business decision to be made. Even before the COVID-19 pandemic over the past two-and-a-bit years, we have noticed that most of our residential and business customers are banking more online.” “The refurbishment of our Samford location incorporating all our staff at the one branch will be an incredible transition.

We look forward to sharing our wealth of knowledge across our residential and business teams.” “So far, the feedback has been really positive and the local Brendale businesses and residents are looking forward to experiencing our Samford Branch firsthand and the good old fashioned village hospitality.”

Since launching in 2002, the bank’s loyal customers have enabled PRCF to donate more than $750,000 to local community groups and clubs.

“We always try and give back to the community in any way we can. From supporting local schools in the region, through to sporting club sponsorships and event support, Community Bank Samford and Brendale was built by the community for the community, and we love to give back and ensure that our community is celebrated in more ways than one,” said PRCF Chair, Kellie O’Brien.

“The new flagship branch will have a wealth of experience at its fingertips, with staff from across the Pine Rivers region, some of whom have been in the area all their lives. Bringing together our customer support staff, through to our lending and borrowing home loan specialists and business account managers, we look forward to continuing our expert service to our valued customers. At Community Bank Samford we are all about supporting the community, local businesses and families, helping people to reach their financial potential,” said Ms Bell.

“On behalf of PRCF and the Community Bank Samford team, we all look forward to welcoming you into the new flagship Community Bank Samford branch, right here in the heart of the region,” said Ms O’Brien.

Community Bank Samford will close on Friday 27 May at 2pm. Online banking facilities will not change and customers can still call the branch on 3289 6710 for assistance. The re-opening is expected in July.
